Don't Give Up okay?
Hey there,
I’ve been thinking a lot about how far this journey has taken me.
And how it all started in the most ordinary way..
Back then (in 2015), I was a student at Gargi College (studying botany hnrs), and teaching Physics, Chem, and Bio to school kids from 9th to 12th after my classes.
Not many people know this, but I always wanted to open a tuition centre. One that also offered proper career guidance, something beyond “just study this.” I wanted to help kids figure out what’s actually right for them. (little did I know, I would do the same in my 1:1 calls with y'all)
Anyway, that little teaching hustle turned into my happy place.
I was earning, I was confident, I was spending on my nails and cute bags like any girl would and life was good.
Once I took a full-time job as a business development exec, I felt stuck. I just knew: this can’t be it.
So, I decided to move to Australia. I had one goal; study something in demand, get my PR, and build a better life. My eyes never left the prize.
But the price (with a "c" hehe) was high.
I missed my family.
I worked all kinds of jobs, we are talking catering, serving, cleaning dishes, waitressing, filling up shelves, call centre, data entry and what not.
I studied, volunteered, worked 15-hour days. I did everything life threw at me. I partied once in a while too, because we all need a break. But I never stopped showing up.
What many people don’t know is that two years ago, I even ran a small marketing agency here in Australia while working full-time. I gave it my all and had clients, but over time, I realised it just wasn’t my calling. It didn’t spark the joy that teaching always had. So I shut it down.
That detour, though? It brought me back to what I’ve always loved- teaching, helping, guiding people with real advice that actually makes a difference.
So trust me when I say: I’ve been grinding for a while. Quietly, consistently.
And this year, slowly but surely, things started to bloom.
I built a little community of 12,000 beautiful humans on YouTube.
I got promoted to Manager at my full-time job.
I’m doing what I love, helping students like you find clarity and direction.
But none of it happened overnight.
Every bit of it took time.
Every little effort, every video, every call, every job I said yes to; it all added up.
And this is something I tell students in my 1:1 calls all the time —
If you’re coming to Australia, you have to be proactive. From day one.
Say yes to things. Be active in your uni. Take up any job that comes your way.
Not because you have to hustle yourself into the ground..
But because standing out takes effort. And if you want to build a life here, you’ve got to do more than what everyone else is doing.
That’s the truth I wish more people told you.
No one told me but I had this ingrained in myself from a very young age that Priyanka, NO MATTER WHAT - you have to be financially independent and financially free.
Now, I wake up at 5am (sometimes even 4:30am), work on my dreams before my job, go to the gym, cook, clean, and keep my head on straight.
I’m turning 29 tomorrow and while I’m usually super self-critical, today I’m actually just proud.
Proud of that girl who used to run to that tuition centre directly from her college classes to teach. (while her friends make shopping plans or party scenes)
Proud of her for thinking big.
Proud that she never gave up.
So if you’re in your 20s and you’re feeling a little lost, confused, or behind, I see you.
Please don’t give up.
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to stay in the game.
Think big. Stay consistent. And take your next step with intention.
Every step counts.
I’m rooting for you.
Love always,
Priyanka x
P.S. If you’ve ever felt unsure of your path (I know I have), just know, even detours can lead you home.
